Seniors to Protest Romney-Ryan-Ovide Radical Plan for Medicare

Granite Staters To Rally Outside Radisson in Manchester Prior to Gubernatorial Debate

Manchester, NH – Granite State seniors and others will rally to protect Medicare outside the Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s Gubernatorial Debate between Democrat Maggie Hassan and Republican Ovide Lamontagne tomorrow morning.

Ovide Lamontagne backs the Romney-Ryan Plan to turn Medicare into a voucher system1 and has called for Medicare to be block granted to states2.  These plans would take the program in a radically different direction and end Medicare as we know it.

Following the Gubernatorial debate visibility, the group will cross the street and continue to rally around protecting Medicare outside of President Obama's campaign event. Granite State seniors will be available for public comment on the importance of preserving Medicare for current and future generations in this high stakes election.

WHAT:            Rally to Protect Medicare outside Gubernatorial Debate

WHEN:            Thursday, October 18th from 7:00 to 8:00 am

WHERE:          In front of the Radisson Hotel – 700 Elm Street, Manchester

WHO:              Granite State seniors and members of NH Citizens Alliance for Action, National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, and Granite State Progress
