Media Advisory: NH Progressive Summit Will Be Held on Saturday, May 19th at New England College
Event Will Host Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Forum, Feature Workshops and Keynotes Designed to Inform, Inspire Progressive Activists
HENNIKER, NH - On Saturday, May 19th progressives from all over the state will come together at New England College in Henniker to collectively learn, train, and mobilize for issue and electoral challenges and opportunities in New Hampshire.
Hosted by Granite State Progress, NH Citizens Alliance for Action, and New England College's Department of Sociology and Social Work - along with many sponsoring organizations - the 2012 NH Progressive Summit will be a jam-packed, action-oriented, day-long event, with workshops and speakers including:
- Morning keynote Arnie Arnesen, political talk show host
- Lunch hour forum with Democratic Gubernatorial candidates Jackie Cilley, Maggie Hassan and Bill Kennedy
- Workshops ranging from housing or state budget issues to State House accountability tools, tactics and more
- Closing keynote from Richard Parker, co-founder of Mother Jones and Chair of the Editorial Board of The Nation
"Conversations that take place at this year's Progressive Summit will help shape the course forward for progressives in New Hampshire, much like a similar event in November 2010 gave birth to a State House Video Monitoring Project and other important ideas that strengthened progressive organizing and collaboration in our state," said Zandra Rice Hawkins, Director of Granite State Progress.
